Dragon-AthamePendantForbidden Pendants - AMirror of our Soul: This "forbidden" pendant is a key to our subconsciousness and even the word "forbidden" itself lures us to the more mystic, magic and darker aspects of our soul which we often, contingent upon society, reject as pure fantasy. In this pendant archetypical pictures are combined with seals and sigils imaged in old grimoires to create a powerful magic talisman. The Pendant Dragon-Athame: In this pendant the vigor, symbolized by the mighty dragon, and the power of the intellect, symbolized by the witche's knife athame, are combined in perfect harmony. At the same time the dragon stands for the element of fire and the athame for the element of air and from this combination of elements even more power can be gained. Thus a mighty talisman is created being able to manifest the ideas of its wearer in reality. But because the athame has often been linked with black magic by ignorants, also the dragon-athame was counted for a long time as a forbidden symbol. Example of a Charging Ritual from an old Grimoire: 1. Preparatio (Preparation): In a quiet room prepare a table with a white tablecloth and take care to have ready a white candle with a candle holder, joss sticks or incense cones, a glass of water and a dash of salt. Darken the room and ensure that you are undisturbed: Put the white candle, the glass of water and the incense on the table, light the incense and the candle and place the sign besides it. Meditate with closed eyes over the meaning of the sign for some minutes - try to imagine its effect as clearly as possible. 2. Purificatio (Cleaning): Put a dash of salt into the glass of water and imagine how the water is filled by a golden light. Pour some of the water on the sign and imagine how it too is glowing in a golden color thereby being cleaned by the element of water. Then move the sign through the smoke of the incense in order to clean it by the element of air. Now move it above the candle flame and sprinkle some salt on it thereby cleaning it with the elements of fire and earth. 3. Potestatem Facere (Charging): Take the sign in your hand and close your eyes. Imagine that a shimmering white sphere of light is hovering above you - feel how large and full of energy this sphere is. Visualize a golden ray of light which leaves the sphere and flows through your head into your solar plexus - this way your body is filled with golden light, is warmed and strengthened. Again concentrate on the effect and the meaning of the sign and let the gold-colored light flow through your arm into your hand and then into the sign. 4. Salvatio (Reorientation): Take a drink or eat a meal in order to recover - this way your body is led back into this world. The sign will stay charged as long as you keep it close to your body. 5. Exoneratio (Discharging): After charging you hold a very powerful symbol in your hands which can cause deep changes in your life. If the effect of the sign is undesirably strong you can discharge it by holding it under running water and imagining for a few minutes how the energy is leaving the sign. About us
A main focus of our jewelry collections are magic symbols which are made according to historical artwork. Although a lot of people (like us) appreciate the beauty of the different designs and used materials, only few think about the deeper symbolism of these pieces of jewelry. In our modern world we see so a many different beautiful and decorative items that we usually only enjoy their beauty without considering the deeper meaning or the origin of the used motives and without knowing for what reason these items were formerly used. In our online shop we want to give answers to these questions by offering accurate background knowledge and additional information about every piece of jewelry in our collection. Jewelry always had various functions which changed during the course of time: Because of the precious materials that were often used for its design it often was a valuable asset and sometime was even used as a currency. But especially in ancient cultures the spiritual meaning of a piece of jewelry was always important and the different motifs were symbols for the affiliation of its wearer to and his status in a social group. Furthermore jewelry can also serve a practical purpose like this is the case with safety pins, belt buckles and brooches. Since jewelry is such a diverse cultural asset the meaning of a given piece can depend on the point of view and beliefs of its creator. For example many cultures developed pieces of jewelry showing to others whether its wearer is married or single: In our Western world these are the wedding rings while in African countries e.g. special bracelets or necklaces are worn for this purpose. Whether we are talking about weddings jewelry or talismans and amulets that were used for protection - often the decorations and materials determine the symbolic meaning of a piece of jewelry. Not only the used symbols and decorations differ strongly between the cultures - a huge number of different materials were also used in the course of time. In the beginnings especially shells and pearls of wood and bone were used, because these natural materials were readily available and could easily be processed. Later the precious metals silver and gold became more and more important and also the use of precious stones increased. Nowadays all possible materials are used to underline the meaning of a piece of jewelry even further thereby creating pendants and other jewelry that could not be designed using traditional materials. Also the piece of jewelry on this page http://www.aval onstreasury.com /Avalons-Treasu ry-Product-Page s-08/Avalons-Tr easury-Avalons- Treasury-Dragon -Athame-Pendant -LH-FB11.html shows a unique combination of material and symbolism.
