This amulet is worn until today to bestow longevity and inner wisdom upon its wearer - the Japanese pendant displays the crane Tsuru which is a lucky charm in the Far East and protects against injustice and dangers. The term amulet originates from the Latin word amuletum which means "to convey strength".

This pendant is made of copper and brass with a framing made of pewter. With the exception of gold copper is the only colored metal and just like silver and gold it is classified as a precious metal. The framing of this pendant is made of pewter, since pewter is a shiny, soft metal which is very malleable and has a good tarnish resistance. The brass, a copper zinc alloy, is responsible for the yellow golden parts of this piece of jewelry and the copper for the red golden ones.
