The term talisman originates from the ancient Greek word teleo which means "to initiate" or "to magically charge". The main motives of this sun talisman are a magic hexagram and the image of an Egyptian Sphinx in its center. In former times this talisman was worn to gain juvenile energy and to increased vitality in life.

This pendant is made of copper and brass with a framing made of pewter. The framing of this piece of jewelry is made of pewter, since pewter is a shiny, soft metal which is very malleable and has a good tarnish resistance. The brass, a copper zinc alloy, is responsible for the yellow golden parts of this pendant and the copper for the red golden ones.
