Horus was the Egyptian God of the Sky and had one sun eye with a white pupil and one moon eye with a black one. One day Horus lost his moon eye in a fight with the jackal-shaped god Seth and it remained after his victory over this dark god here on earth as a charm. In Egpyt Horus therefore was called the defender of light against darkness.

This pendant is made of pewter embellished with silver and gold. Pewter is a shiny, soft metal which is very malleable and has a good tarnish resistance. Artists and craftsmen used pewter quite early (dinnerware, sculptures, household articles, pewter figures, jewelry) and hence pewter jewelry has a long tradition.
