The Egyptian Goddess of Fertility Bast was the mother of the lion god Maahes and was worshipped as the daughter of the sun god Atum. At her temple at Bubastis figures of cats were donated to the goddess, to receive her blessings as a master of music, dance, joy and love.

This pendant is made of pewter embellished with silver and gold and one glass crystal. Pewter is a shiny, soft metal which is very malleable and has a good tarnish resistance.
